    Superholic (Metal Blade)

This is a project of Armored Saint's Joey Vera. It (thankfully) sounds nothing like his main band. Vera handles the production on this as well, and does a phenomenal job, this record sounds great, real thick and clean. The guitar sound is right on,and the drums are precise. Everything is mixed perfectly. As for the band themselves, I don't know where to start. Melodic,to say the least. Very choppy riffs...parts of this bring to mind Stabbing Westward without all the electronic stuff. Actually, this sounds like what would happen if Godsmack were actually a good band. I know, that takes a LOT of imagination, but work with me here, ok? And they do an excellent, faithful to the original (except a lttle bit of distortion in the main riff, which works well) cover of The Cure's "Fascination Street." This band plays a brand of music I generally don't care much for, but I really like this CD for some reason.
