Birthplace and Burial Site
Opening with a haunting piano and soundscape track that
wouldn't be out of place on a Nine Inch Nails album, this
quickly erupts into heavy, yet melodic, black metal
influenced insanity. And I was expecting bad metalcore. What
a pleasant surprise. This is really good. The harsh vocals
are vicious, and the occasional clean vocals are well done.
Another beautiful piano interlude ends track 5, "To Mend the
Wound of a Plagued Heart." Not including the instrumental
intro, there are only 5 songs on this disc, just over 23
minutes total. This is disappointing, but definitely leaves
me wanting more.
