    [ Weezer ]

    Pinkerton

Weezer's newest release is just what I expected from them; fun, poppy songs with catchy vocals in every song.

There are a few really good songs on the disk, but mamy of the tracks were just plain boring to me. It starts off nicely with Tired of Sex and Getchoo.

These two songs stayed stuck in my head for a long time after listening to them. I was looking forward to see what was next. The next few songs were pretty boring. They seemed like filler songs, and I didn't like them at all.

Then I got to a song called The Good Life. My interest in the CD came back. El Scorcho was next, and that's just a great song. If every song on the disk was as good as these two, I'd love the whole thing.

The CD ended with Butterfly. A really nice acoustic song. Probably the only one with any meaning. It's nice, passionate love song that I liked a lot.

The whole CD is OK, but I don't think it's something that I will be listening to in a year. In a scale of one to ten, I'd give it a six. To me Weezer is just a big, fat, Pavement rip-off.
